SRSsoft soon will introduce an enhanced version of its clinical documentation software for group practices that it calls a “hybrid” of electronic health records functionality and conventional document management.

Clinical Manager version 6.0, which is now in beta testing, includes several features more commonly found in an EHR, explains Evan Steele, CEO of the Montvale, N.J.-based company. These include advanced search and reporting capabilities as well as a clinical summary, which enables physicians to organize data into personalized layouts.

The new version of the software is designed “for those practices that are not yet quite ready for an EHR with data entry,” Steele said October 28 at the Medical Group Management Association Conference in Philadelphia.
