A new conference in June will explore the relationship between community pharmacies and the use of electronic health records, personal health records and electronic prescribing software.

Titled, “HIT, EMR, PHR – Transforming Patient Care,” the event is scheduled for June 11-12 in Arlington, Va. The National Association of Chain Drug Stores and the eHealth Initiative will sponsor the event.

Conference presenters will discuss new roles that pharmacies can play in providing patient care; best practices for I.T. use; regulations and standards that affect I.T. adoption; and innovative ways to use PHRs.
