Army Hospital Automates Consents


August 6, 2008

William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, Texas, has installed patient consent software from Dialog Medical, Atlanta.

The iMedConsent software includes consent forms for more than 2,100 medical and surgical procedures. The system also includes patient education documents and an anatomical image gallery that physicians can use to explain procedures to patients.

At William Beaumont, patient and provider information is automatically loaded on the consent form when IMedConsent queries the AHLTA database that most military hospitals use.
