Oregon REC Offers Online Curricula

The Oregon Health Information Technology Extension Center will offer more than 50 online courses addressing the challenges of meeting electronic health records meaningful use criteria.


The Oregon Health Information Technology Extension Center will offer more than 50 online courses addressing the challenges of meeting electronic health records meaningful use criteria.

The center, known as O-HITEC, is one of 62 regional extension centers across the nation established to assist primary care providers and certain hospitals in achieving meaningful use. O-HITEC will co-develop content for the courses with BridgeFront, a Vancouver, Wash.-based vendor of online curricula for health care, government, business and education organizations.

Under federal funding, O-HITEC is expected to help more than 3,000 providers adopt EHR systems. More information is available at o-hitec.org and bridgefront.com.
