Oklahoma children’s hospital selects CPSI as its EHR vendor

In other contracts, Sectra gets imaging business at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.


Here is Health Data Management’s weekly roundup of health information technology contracts and implementations.
  • The J.D. McCarty Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities will implement the Evident electronic health records system of CPSI, along with a suite of cloud-based revenue cycle applications. The center in Norman, Okla., has a staff of more than 200 treating children with a wide range of disabilities. All six hospital units on the campus will get the new software.
  • The Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago signed a multi-year contract to use the Sectra PACS for managing all breast imaging workflows with a goal to improve cancer detection. The 890-bed hospital will integrate the PACS with the electronic health record, radiology PACS and a vendor-neutral archive.

  • Santa Clara Family Health Plan in California, a local safety net insurer serving more than 280,000 members in Santa Clara County, will deploy the TriZetto QNXT payer platform and receive strategic advisory services from TriZetto’s parent company Cognizant. The platform will help the health plan meet business and customer quality requirements, says CIO Jonathan Tamayo.
  • Duncan Regional Hospital, a 126-bed facility in Duncan, Okla., a Meditech client since 1989, is upgrading to the vendor’s Web electronic health record as many long-time Meditech clients have been doing during the past year, if not longer. With the newer system, improving critical care and patient monitoring are top priorities, as are detecting and treating Sepsis and preventing falls, says Roger Neal, CIO and vice president of operations at the hospital.

  • The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute has selected the CNA Guided Care precision medicine technology platform of Cota to better understand variances in patient care delivery, treatment, utilization and outcomes, starting with lung cancer patients. The platform will aid in creating a baseline of cost variances for testing, drugs, procedures and hospitalizations across the enterprise, with evaluations at the individual physician and treatment location levels.
  • Provider and insurer Kern Health Systems, serving 240,000 members in California, will use the Jiva 6.1 population health management platform of ZeOmega. Jiva, which includes a health information exchange, will support a care coordination initiative for Medicaid members in Kern County. Kern Health Systems also will use the vendor’s transitions of care and regulatory reporting software.
