OB Vendors Align
Princeton, N.J.-based PeriGen Inc., vendor of the PeriBirth obstetrics clinical decision support and risk reduction software for hospitals, has partnered with Nashville, Tenn.-based digiChart Inc, which sells ambulatory OB-GYN electronic health records software.

Under the alliance, PeriGen is licensed to sell the digiChart software--integrated with PeriBirth--to hospital clients for use by affiliated and employed physicians.
PeriBirth pulls streaming data from various sources including monitors and pharmacy, laboratory, radiology and ADT systems. The application then analyzes the data, such as blood pressure, in real-time against established protocols and generates an alarm if warranted.
With the integration, attending physicians at the hospital will have prenatal information available from the ambulatory EHR, according to the vendors. More information is available at perigen.com and digichart.com.
