The Catholic Independent Practice Association, Buffalo, N.Y., will remotely host electronic health record and practice management software from Westborough, Mass.-based eClinicalWorks for 150 physicians. These doctors include those who work at the IPA’s network of clinics as well as some other community physicians.

The IPA has about 800 physician members, and half already use an EHR. The IPA will subsidize a portion of the cost for its members who sign up to use eClincalWorks before Dec. 31. The organization has created a technical team that will assist practices in achieving the meaningful use criteria to qualify for federal incentive payments under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Practices also will receive assistance in implementing the medical home model of care.
