The university in March began testing the Patient Care System of Westwood, Mass.-based Meditech Inc. with a group of nursing students. The school expects to implement I.T. use in all of its health science disciplines this year.
Use of Meditech’s hospital information system is giving student hands-on experience with accessing medical histories, medications, symptoms, test results and reference content from information technologies before entering a real clinical setting, says Brenda Douglas, R.N., clinical instructor and nursing skills laboratory coordinator.
