ActiveHealth Management, a subsidiary of insurer Aetna Inc. offering a range of health management software and services, has named industry veteran Richard Noffsinger as president and CEO. He succeeds Gregory Steinberg, M.D., who will lead Aetna's clinical innovation unit.

Noffsinger has more than two decades of health I.T. experience and most recently led Anvita Health (formerly SafeMed), a vendor of clinical data aggregation and analytics software. He previously was president and COO at Amicore, a physician practice management and electronic health records software vendor that Misys Healthcare Systems acquired in 2006. Previously, Noffsinger was group industry manager for the worldwide health care market at Microsoft Corp.
