The National eHealth Collaborative will host a free Web seminar on Nov. 4 that will explain recommendations for governance of the emerging nationwide health information network.

The collaborative is a federally funded public-private organization to promote and drive consensus for the secure nationwide exchange of health information. The collaborative is developing a series of free Web seminars covering multiple aspects of the NHIN.

The Health IT Policy Committee's governance workgroup on Oct. 20 submitted preliminary governance recommendations to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. During the Nov. 4 seminar, officials from ONC, the policy committee and the NHIN Exchange Coordinating Council will walk through the governance development process and preliminary recommendations, and take questions.

For more information on the Web seminar, click here. The governance workgroup's recommendations are available here.
