New WEDI Program Facilitates State ICD-10 Cooperation

The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange has launched a new program for states to collaborate on reaching compliance with the ICD-10 code sets.

The goal of the WEDI ICD-10 State Collaborative Initiative is to facilitate inter-state communication to share best practices, work together on end-to-end testing and other projects to reduce the time and costs of implementation. Initial state partners include California ICD-10 Collaborative, Massachusetts Health Data Consortium, Minnesota ICD-10 Collaborative, North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance, and Wisconsin ICD-10 Collaborative. Also announced is the first state collaborative meeting scheduled for July 22 during the WEDI ICD-10/HPID (Health Plan Identifier) Implementation Excellence Forum, July 22-25 in Fairfax, Va. More information is available here.
