The Medical Group Management Association and its American College of Medical Practice Executives affiliate have named Garth Jordan as chief operating officer.

The position has been vacant for about 1.5 years. Jordan will oversee general operations and strategic planning. He previously served as director of marketing and business development at MGMA from 1997 to 2000.
Most recently, Jordan was vice president of operations at EDUCAUSE, an association that works to advance higher education. He also held senior positions at Mercy Housing, the Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses and HealtheCareers.
