The National Committee for Quality Assurance has introduced a free mobile app enabling consumers to search for physicians and insurers that have received NCQA accreditation for meeting a range of specific quality standards.

The app can search for physicians within a 100-mile range, and aids in finding insurers offered by individuals’ employers, Medicare, Medicaid or health insurance exchanges. Patients also can search for accredited medical homes and practices recognized for quality diabetes, heart and stroke programs, among other services.
