Transactions processing vendor NaviNet Inc., which operates Web portals enabling providers to exchange administrative and financial transactions with insurers, soon will also offer Web-hosted integrated ambulatory practice management and electronic health records software.

The Cambridge, Mass.-based company has licensed and private labeled the software of CureMD Corp., New York. CureMD has received certification that its EHR supports meaningful use criteria under the HITECH Act.

NaviNet will market the software as NaviNet EMR and NaviNet PM, integrated with its transactions services platform that processes claims-related transactions. This will link administrative, financial and clinical workflows within a single secure Web site, according to the vendor. The integrated systems will enable automated sharing of data so patient information pre-populates screens, eliminating the need for double entry. The electronic records software includes pay-for-performance and clinical decision support modules.

NaviNet will host, maintain and update the ambulatory software. It has launched pilot tests and expects the service to be commercially available during the first quarter of 2011. The vendor will demonstrate the integrated suite of services at the Medical Group Management Association's Annual Conference, Oct. 24-27 in New Orleans. Practices interested in being pilot sites can visit Booth 1028 or navinet.net/earlyadopter.

Pricing for the integrated services has not been finalized but will include a one-time implementation fee and a per-provider, per-month subscription.

NaviNet previously partnered with two other vendors to increase the functionality of its Web portals. Through the Relay Health unit of McKesson Corp., clients can create provider portals to offer online services to patients. NaviNet presently is working with payer software vendor MEDecision Inc. to enable through NaviNet portals the generation and dissemination of clinical patient summaries.
