MobileMD Gets Connecticut HIE Deal

Eastern Connecticut Health Network, a delivery system serving 19 towns, will implement health information exchange applications from MobileMD Inc., Yardley, Pa.
Manchester-based ECHN includes two hospitals, owned and affiliated physician practices, rehabilitation and nursing centers, visiting nurse and ambulance services, and imaging centers, among other provider sites.
The delivery system will use MobileMD's core HIE platform software, clinician and patient portals, and a Web-based ambulatory electronic health record system that is anticipated to receive Complete EHR certification for meaningful use during the fourth quarter of 2011.
ECHN expects the HIE to be a supporting foundation for accountable care organizations and will offer the exchange to non-affiliated providers throughout the region. More information is available at echn.org.
