Protocols for Cleaning Mobile Devices

McKesson Provider Technologies and Clorox Co. will jointly develop and promote disinfection protocols for mobile equipment and handheld electronic devices.

These devices include computers on wheels, Tablet PCs, mobile medication cabinets and handheld bar code scanners. McKesson will offer the protocols in conjunction with its Patient Care Advantage suite of applications that are designed to help improve patient safety.

Oakland, Calif.-based Clorox manufactures various cleaning and disinfection products for consumer and business markets. McKesson Provider Technologies is the software unit of McKesson Corp., San Francisco.
