The app, embedded in a user's mobile device, enables a person to speak into the device and have the translated text appear. Type-to-type translations also are available for situations that require quiet or for those who have trouble speaking.
The app, called SpeechTrans Ultimate for Hearing Impaired, also stores translations that can be played back without an Internet connection. The application can support up to 1,000 voice recognition-based transcriptions. Text-to-text and text-to-speech transcriptions are unlimited.
Costing $99, the product is available at the Apple App Store.
