HDM Web Seminar to Tackle Mobile Device Security

Mobile computing devices in a variety of form factors are everywhere and their use will only grow. They offer unlimited potential for clinicians and others to access data, from wherever and whenever, to do their jobs better.

But mobility also has created huge security challenges for the I.T. departments of health care organizations trying to adhere to privacy and security rules and protect their organizations from disastrous data breaches.

Health Data Management will host an editorial Web seminar, “Mobile Security in the Real World,” on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Noon EST. The speakers are Jeffrey MacEwen, information assurance officer at the University of Arizona Health Network; and Doug Copley, information security officer at Beaumont Health System in metropolitan Detroit. They will present strategies to tackle security challenges while simultaneously providing the highest levels of mobile access to authorized clinicians, administrators and other staff.
