The State of Mississippi has awarded a three-company contract to assist in developing plans for the Mississippi Statewide Health Information Exchange.

Boston-based Public Consulting Group, a management consulting firm, is the prime contractor. It will lead work to help the state develop a strategic plan for implementation of the HIE, including assessing current data exchange capabilities and development of requirements. The firm has more than two decades experience in advising state Medicaid agencies, among other public sector clients.

Tampa, Fla.-based Hielix, which offers HIE business and organizational services focused on financial sustainability; and Minneapolis-based MEDNET, a vendor of integration and connectivity services, are subcontractors. The companies previously partnered and are jointly providing strategic and planning services for North Dakota's HIE initiative.
