Medica, a health insurer serving 1.6 million members in the Upper Midwest, now supports e-prescribing for all of its health plans.
The Minnetonka, Minn.-based payer's Medicare Part D program began supporting e-prescribing in April 2009, followed by the Minnesota Health Care Program last fall. Since April 2009, 800 providers have submitted more than 500,000 transactions for 116,000 Medica members.
Physicians use their own e-prescribing software. More information is available at medica.com.
