The Medical Group Management Association is offering data analytics technology to physician practice administrators to analyze and benchmark practice performance.

The Web-based DataDive: 2012 Procedural Profile Module is designed to analyze a patient base, potential new service lines, staffing levels, top procedures by specialty, and coding profiles by level of compensation or production, among other factors, according to the association.

Results of analyses can be benchmarked against the performance of peer organizations in the same specialty or region using national data from MGMA. For instance, a practice can compare its physicians’ performance by Relative Value Units that determine reimbursement or by collections, and use data to support education or behavior modification.

The cost for the analytics service is $565 annually per user for MGMA members, $675 for affiliate members and $1,135 for non-members. More information is available here.
