MedAssets Expands into Construction

MedAssets, a group purchasing organization and vendor of revenue cycle management software, has launched services to assist hospitals and delivery systems in managing construction projects.

The Alpharetta, Ga.-based-company has teamed with e-Builder, a Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based vendor of integrated capital program and project management software. The partnership combines the software with MedAsset's GPO expertise, which includes best practices for project delivery in such areas as architectural design, contractor RFP processes and equipment planning.

MedAssets new Construction Services program assists in managing a project's lifecycle, including the tracking of identified and purchased equipment. A streamlined reconciliation process for equipment acquisition ensures savings, according to the vendors.
