Maryland's statewide health information exchange, called the Chesapeake Regional Information System for Our Patients, or CRISP, has gone live.

Early adopters of the HIE's services include Holy Cross Hospital, Suburban Hospital, Montgomery General Hospital, Community Radiology, Advanced Radiology, American Radiology Services, Quest Diagnostics and Laboratory Corporation of America.

Initial functions offered through the HIE include hospital discharge summaries and lab and radiology results, with a goal to expand to a Continuity of Care Document.

All 48 hospitals in the state have committed to sharing data through CRISP. The HIE anticipates additional hospitals, as well as physician practices and federally qualified health centers to come online by year-end. More information is available at crisphealth.org.
