Voice, EHR Vendors Connect

Pittsburgh-based Vocollect Healthcare Systems has interfaced its hands-free, voice-based communication system for nurses and other caregivers with the long-term care electronic health records software of PointClickCare, Toronto.

Vocollect's wireless AccuNurse application works by pressing a button on a badge, enabling users to verbally receive worklists, document task completion and communicate with co-workers.

The interface enables PointClickCare's EHR to populate AccuNurse with admission, discharge and transfer information, according to the vendors. It also enables care documentation to populate the EHR.
