The Medical Records Institute in Boston has created a new annual TEPR Award to recognize electronic health records software that meets basic legal recordkeeping requirements.
This includes retention of the original version of an altered record and specific functions covering document version management, identity and authentication, signature events, data integrity, and document event auditing.
The intent of the award is to help purchasers more easily select products that support basic legal requirements, according to the Boston-based research, advocacy and conference organization.
EHR vendors interested in demonstrating the compliance of their software can visit tepr.com for more information.
