Lawson Software will acquire integration vendor Healthvision Solutions Inc. and its Quovadx holding company for $160 million in a deal expected to close this month.

Dallas-based Healthvision sells the Cloverleaf interface engine and a health information exchange platform. It also sells in Canada inpatient and ambulatory electronic health records, a suite of ancillary hospital applications and physician practice management software following an acquisition in 2008.

Acquiring Healthvision will enable St. Paul, Minn.-based Lawson, which sells business applications, to connect multiple health care and business systems within a hospital and other provider sites. This will give access to financial, operational and clinical information across an enterprise.

Healthvision has almost 300 employees. It serves 800 customers using Healthvision products at 3,000 facilities. A quarter of Healthvision's customers also are current Lawson clients. Lawson expects Healthvision to contribute $60 million to $70 million in revenue, and 6 cents to 7 cents in earnings, in the first 12 months after closing the acquisition.
