Consulting firm KPMG has purchased Cincinnati–based Zanett Commercial Solutions, a business and technology consulting firm with a strong hospital customer base, in order to deliver healthcare technology solutions that enhance patient care and outcomes by accelerating the meaningful use of electronic health records.

According to KPMG, the acquisition strengthens the company's geographic footprint, enhances its technology offerings, and extends its connections with leading academic and children's hospitals, as well as health systems. Zanett's solution offerings range from revenue cycle management to electronic health records. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Zanett is an Oracle Platinum Partner with solutions across the Oracle platform and "deep experience in healthcare." The Zanett buy is KPMG's third acquisition of an Oracle solutions provider since 2011.

The acquisition “enhances KPMG’s enterprise technology skills, often an anchor of business transformation solutions that also include operating model design, digital and mobile strategy, financial impact assessment, organizational design, change management, business intelligence and analytics, tax implications, regulatory readiness, privacy and security and risk management,” according to a statement from KPMG.

John B. Veihmeyer, global chairman of KPMG and chairman and CEO of KPMG in the U.S., adds that Zanett “furthers our mission to be the market leader in serving as a strategic advisor for clients looking to drive sustainable value across their enterprise.”
