Tiny Hospital Launches Intranet

Paris (Ill.) Community Hospital has implemented an intranet to improve communication with its 208 full-time employees.

The 25-bed facility with an outpatient clinic is using the Intranet Portal software of HospitalPortal.Net, Rolling Meadows, Ill. The portal, launched in three months, enables the hospital to publish and share information, such as policies and procedures, with employees, says Gary Taylor, director of hospital information services at Paris Community.

The portal also has lessened the burden for hospital information technology staff because employees now know where to find information instead of calling I.T., he adds.
