Hospital Links to First Responders

Crittenden Regional Hospital in West Memphis, Ark., has implemented technology to enable emergency notification and live communications with first responders using disparate communications systems.

The 152-bed hospital is using the Federal Signal SmartMSG communications system of Federal Signal Corp., University Park, Ill. The system enables interoperability with two-way radios, telephones, cell phones, PDAs, computers, pagers, warning systems, sirens and other communications devices.

The system offers distributed instant messaging, two-way text or voice communication and Voice over Internet communication. For details, visit federalsignal.com.
