EHR Vendor Adds Decision Support

Chartscape LLC, a Los Angeles-based vendor of electronic health records software for physician practices, has integrated its application with clinical decision support software.

The company is using the drug database of Evanston, Ill.-based PEPID LLC to enable automated checking for potential adverse medication interactions during the ordering process. The interaction checks do not add more steps to the medication ordering process, according to the vendors.

Over time, Chartscape expects to embed other decision support applications from PEPID. Among other topics, the applications cover oncology, nursing, and emergency, critical and primary care.
