Compuware Corp. has acquired Hilgraeve Inc., a vendor of integration and messaging software for health care organizations. Acquisition terms were not disclosed.
Detroit-based Compuwares Covisint division sells Web portals and other collaboration platforms to organizations in multiple industries, with nearly 46,000 clients. In health care, the company has thousands of physician and laboratory clients. A physician, for instance, can have labs send test results to the physicians Web portal, or can access results from the labs portal. But, absent integration between the portals and the physicians electronic health records system, the results must be printed and manually entered into the EHR.
Monroe, Mich.-based Hilgraeves HyperSend PDX software is an integration tool that can ease the transferring of data between physician practice management systems and other applications. A physician, for instance, can use the tool to extract patient lists from the practice management system and embed them in the electronic prescribing module of an EHR. Or, a physician can use the tool to get electronic results from a lab automatically placed in a patients electronic record.
Until now, Covisint has had to integrate client applications with the Web portal onsite. With Hilgraeve, we can do that remotely in a 30-minute process, says Brett Furst, vice president of health care at Covisint.
