The Indiana Health Information Technology Extension Center has selected athenahealth Inc., iSALUS Healthcare of Indianapolis and MDLand of New York as preferred vendors of electronic health records records software.

The vendors, selected from an initial vetting of more than 200 companies, have agreed to offer preferred pricing and terms. The center, called I-HITEC, is one of 60 emerging regional extension centers initially funded under grants from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to aid providers, particularly small and rural practices, in adopting information technologies.

Several regional extension centers have endorsed a small set of EHR vendors to help providers speed their vendor selection processes. More information on I-HITEC is available at ihitec.purdue.edu.
