Illinois and Iowa have recently selected vendors to build and operate their statewide health information exchanges, funded under the HITECH Act.

Illinois will go with InterSystem Corp.’s HealthShare product under a $7.25 million contract. The state received an $18.8 million federal grant over four years and expects initial operations to start in April 2012. More information is available at
