Again govt needs to guide not mandate. Why is not CMS creating specialty work groups for all ICD 9 to ICD 10 crosswalks? If we could agree on the top 20-30 Dx. for each specialty group and creat software with algorithems it would be easy for Drs. to code base on CMS approved guidelines for 90% of their work loads. Then make the insurance industry follow it also. If this works, than monitor for other crosswalks that need to be implimented. Doesn't WHO already have something like this, or are they also just in the business of creating a mess and stepping back washing their hands of the mess they created years ago? Anyone out there listening?
