Community hospital information systems vendor Healthcare Management Systems Inc. has made several enhancements of its inpatient electronic health records software.
The Nashville, Tenn.-based vendor calls the upgrades its largest software release in history. New features or enhancements include:
* Improved price transparency with a patient charge estimator module,
* Patient vital signs monitor integration,
* Enhanced computerized physician order entry that includes result alerts, nursing alerts and weight-based dosing,
* Enhanced patient safety features to support positive identification and secondary verification for medication orders and administration, and
* Improved efficiency through enhanced standing orders and better turnaround time reporting capabilities.
