Health Level Seven International will host a free Web seminar on Oct. 24 to provide information on the Laboratory Results Interface Implementation Guide, which is a necessary component of meeting the Stage 2 meaningful use program.

The implementation guide provides guidance for electronic reporting of lab test results to ambulatory providers, according to HL7. The one-hour seminar, starting at Noon EDT, will focus on the importance of the guide and its benefits, and how it handles multiple electronic health records settings including ambulatory, acute care and public health.

Ken McCaslin, director of healthcare standards at Quest Diagnostics, will be the presenter. Registration is available here.
