The increasing use of clinical genomics is the focus of the 24th Annual Plenary Meeting of standards development organization Health Level Seven on Oct. 4 in Cambridge, Mass. The session is held each year during HL7's fall working group meeting.

Keynote speakers at the plenary will tackle the personal genome project and issues related to implementation of personalized medicine. Presentations during the event will cover performing clinical assessments through family health history using HL7 data exchange, structuring genetic lab results in the electronic health record, and using HL7 clinical genomics standards in research.
