Standards development organization Health Level Seven International has expanded services to members, including establishing a professional help desk to provide implementation support.

Standards development organization Health Level Seven International has expanded services to members, including establishing a professional help desk to provide implementation support.

New services are part of an initiative to make adoption and implementation of HL7 standards easier. In April 2013, for instance, the organization made much of its intellectual property free under new licensing terms.

Other new membership benefits include free Web seminars, discounts on training and user groups for peer collaboration. Further, newly published standards now are immediately available to members with non-members waiting 90 days for availability.

HL7 also is considering additional benefits such as new policy-related initiatives, and expanded tools and conformance testing. A Web seminar detailing the new services is scheduled on October 8 with registration here.
