HL7 Amends its Name

Standards development organization Health Level Seven has changed its name to Health Level Seven International.

The change reflects the international scope that the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based organization now enjoys with a growing number of nations adopting its messaging standards. The International Organization for Standards also has adopted a number of HL7 standards.

HL7 further has collaborations with at least five other international standards development organizations. More information is available at hl7.org.
