Client wins, new leadership and enhanced products are among recent announcements from health information technology vendors:

* Chesapeake (Va.) Regional Medical Center will implement a health information exchange for its delivery system that serves 650,000 residents of southeastern Virginia. ICA is the HIE vendor and initially will implement lab and radiology electronic orders and results technology from Emdeon Inc. ICA also will integrate with Chesapeake Regional’s McKesson Horizon system for laboratory, Phillips Stentor for radiology and Siemens Invision for admissions/discharge/transfer data.

    * Health insurance software vendor Eldorado has named Sally Else as president, succeeding the retiring Tom Castleberry. Else most recently was executive vice president of business development at the company and previously served at CSG Systems and First Data Corp. Castleberry will remain in a consulting role.

      * A new version of InterSystems Corp.’s HealthShare health information exchange platform, originally designed for public HIEs, now better supports private ones as well, according to the company. New features include capability to retrieve and analyze unstructured data as well as structured, and collect, aggregate, normalize and present data from organizations throughout a care community.

        * Stilwell (Okla.) Memorial Hospital, with 44 beds, will implement the OpenVista electronic health records software of Medsphere Systems Corp. The software is a commercialized version of the Veterans Affairs’ VistA EHR.
