New York picking its statewide patient portal vendor highlights recent health information technology vendor announcements:

The New York eHealth Collaborative has named start-up vendor Mana Health of New York City as the vendor to build a statewide patient portal. The portal, connecting to the Statewide Health Information Network of New York, will offer consumer access to lab results, medication lists, radiology reports, and procedures and conditions, among other information. An early version of the portal available in select parts of the state is expected in early 2014. Mana was the winner of a patient portal design challenge held in early 2013.

Marlin Equity Partners has acquired 6N Systems, a vendor of clinical and financial information systems for long-term care and other post-acute treatment facilities. Terms were not disclosed. The deal adds to Marlin’s holdings and geographic reach in the post-acute arena as 6N Systems has merged into SigmaCare, a skilled nursing and long-term care software vendor that Marlin owns.

Interbit Data, a vendor of software to distribute information over the Internet in fax, print, email, encrypted file or HL7 message formats, has named Ken Hoffman as president. Hoffman has 23 years of experience in health information technology, most recently as CEO of HCISolution Inc., an integration firm and partner of Interbit Data, which now will become a development arm of Interbit. Hoffman succeeds Arthur Young, founding partner and president at Interbit since 1997, who will continue to serve as founding partner.
