CAQH, which oversees the CORE initiative to develop operating rules that make HIPAA transactions more standardized, has a new Web site listing insurers, clearinghouses and providers that are ready to test the eligibility and claim status rules.

The list presently is small and the organization asks other ready stakeholders to join the list. The effective date for using the CORE eligibility and claim status operating rules is Jan. 1, 2013.

Payers currently on the list as ready to test are BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. Montefiore Medical Center in New York is the only listed provider as of Oct. 17. Clearinghouses ready to test include athenahealth, Dorado Systems, HMS, InstaMed, Office Ally, OptumInsight and The SSI Group.
