There are so many ways that thieves can access records now, you need someone that has been through it to give you a heads up on what to look for now someone that has just read about other people's stories.
I have been an advocate for medical and business id theft prevention since 2005 and will be happy to help others.
EMR are great but also have loopholes.

Still, there are still many glitches in the protection of privacy with EMR. I have seen situations where it is an accident waiting to happen. Security is lacking as well as the opportunity to steal information. EMR accountability has made some areas too easy for thefts of information especially in areas where higher technology is trailing or does not exist and the practices are getting by on a shoe string.
