The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, along with the Medical Group Management Association, are conducting the fourth annual HIMSS Security Survey and seeking more participants before the Sept. 16 deadline.

The survey will cover opinions from information technology and security professionals in inpatient and ambulatory provider organizations. "There are several goals to this research," MGMA tells its members in an appeal to participate. "First, we hope to learn how security implementation has changed since the survey was first conducted in 2008. We also hope to understand the key security concerns that exist in both the hospital and ambulatory environments. Finally, we want to learn what decisions are being made in light of the meaningful use requirements."
