The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society will establish the HIMSS Innovation Center in Cleveland, initially renting 25,000 square feet in the Global Center for Health Innovation, previously called the Cleveland Medical Mart.

The center will open in October, says H. Stephen Lieber, president and CEO at HIMSS, and will serve health delivery organizations and health information technology vendors worldwide. With testing, demonstration, exhibition and educational sections, the clinic will provide a test environment, using simulated patient demographic, financial and clinical data, to support and demonstrate a product’s interoperability.

HIMSS will partner with other organizations in the Global Center for Health Innovation, which is adjacent to the Cleveland Convention Center. Other members of the Global Center include Cleveland Clinic, GE Healthcare, Johnson Controls, Philips Healthcare and University Hospitals in Cleveland.
