The top vendors under consideration were Medicity Inc. (23 percent), Axolotl Corp. (22 percent), McKesson RelayHealth (16 percent), Informatics Corporation of America (11 percent) and Epic Systems Corp. (11 percent), according to a new report from vendor research firm KLAS Enterprises. Other vendors in the top 10 of those considered include Cerner Corp., dbMotion, GE Healthcare, InterSystems Corp. and Orion Health.
The report explains the differences between public, cooperative and private HIEs, and how the distinctions factor into vendor selection. It is the second report on HIEs from Orem, Utah-based KLAS in the past half-year; the earlier one examined vendor choices for 89 live, "validated" HIEs serving disparate organizations. The new report, "Health Information Exchanges: Perception in an Expanding Frontier," is available for purchase at klasresearch.com/reports.
