The New Hampshire Health Information Organization, created by the legislature to develop a statewide health information exchange, has contracted for help.

The Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative will provide executive leadership, strategic direction and management of the HIE program in New Hampshire. Software vendor Orion Health will supply the HIE platform technology. Orion already had contracts with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, and several hospitals in the state.

Initial services of the HIE are expected to include secure routing between private and public HIEs of discharge summaries, referral and consultation notes, and lab and image reports, as well as secure messaging software. Future phases, according to MAeHC, could include an electronic master patient index, record locator services, and expansion to other stakeholders.
