HealthInfoNet, the statewide health information exchange in Maine, will implement a data warehouse with analytics tools to analyze clinical and claims data.

The HIE will link to the state’s all-payer claims database, and populate the warehouse with that information and its own clinical data. The information will be de-identified. Arcadia Solutions, Burlington, Mass., is the vendor for the warehouse and analytics software.

The goal is to combine clinical information from HIE transactions with associated cost information from claims to support new payment models including accountable care organizations and shared savings programs, giving providers cost, quality and outcomes data in one view, says HealthInfoNet CEO Devore Culver.

The project is being funded via a $198,659 grant from the Maine Health Access Foundation. More information on HealthInfoNet is available at hinfonet.org.
