MedAllies will provide messaging software using federally developed Direct Project protocols for the Statewide Health Information Network of New York under a contract with the New York eHealth Collaborative.

Other services available on the statewide network include a patient look-up function, which is a search engine enabling physicians to access clinical information with patient consent, and an alert function that lets physicians know when data is posted about their patients, such as an emergency department visit.

More information on the collaborative is available at nyehealth.org.
