The Indiana Health Information Exchange will begin posting on a public website clinical quality measure scores of participating physicians in the state.

More than 750 physicians in 174 locations have agreed to participant in an expansion of IHIE’s Quality Health First Program that started in 2008. The program is a collaborative of employers, insurers, providers and the state government to enable physicians to review and verify data in performance reports provided to them, and to update reports with information in patient files. In return, physicians can receive reimbursements based on improvement in quality measures.

Now the quality scores will be posted publicly for physicians who agree, and updated semi-annually. The reports will be grouped by geographic regions and give information in such treatment areas as diabetes, women’s and children’s health, heart care and respiratory. More information is available here.
